Invisalign with Mandibular Advancement combines the advantages of clear aligners with features for advancing the lower jaw. The benefits of this cutting-edge approach to Class II malocclusion, include:
More cost effective than traditional overbite appliances
Simultaneously straightens the teeth while moving the lower jaw forward
No food restrictions
There is zero hardware, so you can brush and floss
Virtually invisible so children and teens can continue to smile with confidence
No extra appliances to fit thanks to the precision wings being attached to the aligners and no emergency visits
They don't get in the way of things like playing sports or instruments
Interceptive treatment is performed on young, growing children in order to deal with issues such as misaligned jaw, severely overcrowded or protruding teeth or to correct harmful oral habits as early as possible. Delivered between the ages of 7 and 9, treatment typically lasts between 8 and 12 months. It often makes later treatment much less complicated.
The initial orthodontic evaluation should occur at the first sign of orthodontic problems or no later than age seven. At this early age, orthodontic treatment may not be necessary, but careful examination can anticipate the most advantageous time to begin treatment. This early treatment is aimed at preventing or “intercepting” more serious problems.
If your child does not meet the NHS criteria but you still wish to pursue orthodontic treatment, you can consider funding the treatment yourself on a private basis. This includes metal, ceramic and Invisalign treatments. We offer flexible finance options to facilitate funding private treatment should that be your choice.
TREATMENT OPTIONSEvery patient in need of orthodontics is unique and different aligners and braces are designed to combat different conditions. Finding the right brace to fix your teeth and fit your lifestyle can be difficult. However one method to help choose is discretion vs speed.
Clear aligners are a lot more discreet with most people unaware that you ever wear one. The treatment can be lengthier, leaving you wearing the aligner for a long time, especially during complicated treatment. Braces act much faster but are very difficult to hide, sitting in plain view as they correct your teeth. There are exception to this rule such as Lingual appliances that sit on the inside of the teeth and limit the brace's functionality only working to correct certain conditions.
Aligners such as Invisalign Teen are removable for sports, keeping the appliance safe and preventing the aligner from causing any damage to the teeth and gums from an impact.
For fixed appliances, your orthodontist can supply custom-made mouth guards to fit over braces, offering your child a high degree of protection, especially when playing sports. Acting like a shock absorber to spread impact force over a large area, a properly engineered mouth guard should prevent or greatly reduce the effect of any injury to the mouth area.
The Orthodontic Practice is a fully private orthodontic practice. However, we are happy to give advice about referring a child to an NHS Orthodontic Practice if a general dentist has recommended NHS Orthodontic Treatment.
If you are interested in private treatment for your child, we would be pleased to arrange an initial consultation. Private treatment can often be started sooner than NHS treatment, providing a wider range of orthodontic appliance choices including Invisalign clear aligners. We can also offer patient finance subject to status and acceptance.
